For the past couple of months, my daughter has had leg pain that wakes her up most nights. She only mentioned it to me when the pain started just before bed one night and it left her limping. A few days later, the daytime pain returned whenever she was active and now it generally seems to be there all the time, but is worse when she's dancing or running.
She does not have any pain in her arms, but she described her fingertips as feeling numb. Also, her eyes hurt whenever she's in the sun. The other day she said her eye was "throbbing" even though she was indoors. And like her legs, what started out as an reoccurring pain is now a constant one.
In the past, whenever Kaelin ate a lot of white flour, she got sores in her mouth and rashes (mostly on her bottom), but all the pains are new (and somewhat scary.)
We saw her gastroenterologist yesterday and he said that all of those things are classic signs of celiac, however, Kaelin has had blood tests and an endoscopy 18 months ago and there are zero signs of that.
Does anyone experience these type of symptoms with FM? Before I even contemplate going 100% gluten-free, I want to understand a bit more about whether FM could be the culprit here...

I am 42 and have always had leg cramps or charly horses also arthritis type symptoms I saw a rheumotologist and they ran tons of blood tests and everything was normal she suggested more vitamin c which because of my strange diet she thought I was lacking. I have never been good at taking vitamins but thought I would try it. I made sure they were all safe a lot of them have added sugars but I now take a mutivitamin and 3 500 mg vitamin c a day and my digestion has never been better and all cramps are gone and most arthritis type symptoms. hope that helps.

Hey there, I used to hang out over on the HFI board with Charlie! Hi, Charlie! Anyway, just wanted to mention that my son ended up being diagnosed with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). He had fructose issues, fevers, diarrhea, energy issues, joint pain, eye pain, mouth sores, and horrible abdominal pain. A rheumatologist diagnosed it after three years of trying to find answers. He is doing much better on medication, though he still has flares. I still feel like we don't have it all figured out exactly, but we are getting there. Best, Sandra

Just read this one. There symptoms EIM of crohn's disease also.
I will try and get a listing of the EIM of crohn and post.
Has she seen a rheumotologist?
