This is something I made up trying to think along the lines of a meal that doesn't have potatoes in it. It seemed to work really well, certainly got gobbled up. Serves 2 2 pieces white fish 1 portion salmon 1/2 pint milk 1 tbsp cornflour salt and pepper, a pinch of dill or parsley maybe for flavour For the crumble: 2 oz / 50g plain flour2 oz / 50g oats 2oz / 50g butter 2 oz / 50g grated cheese. Poach the fish lightly in the milk, remove and flake into an oven-proof dish. Mix cornflour with a little cold milk then pour into the milk you poached the fish in. Stir until nice and thick, add seasoning according to taste. Pour over the fish and mix in well. To make the crumble mix the flour and oats together, add the butter and mix until resemble breacrumbs. Add the grated cheese and lightly toss till mixed together. Pour ontop of the fish mixture. Cook for approximately 20 minutes at 200C / 400F / gas 6 until golden brown. Serve with safe vegetables or salad. You can put into individual pots to cook then add fried onion, mushroom etc to the non FM portions. Attachments:
