This was brought back to my attention by a c**k up this weekend with some cake bars.
If you or a member of your family have FM then you have to become expert in this..... My usual routine is to: 1) scan the ingredients, if something immediately noticed that is out put it back. 2) if it looks possibly ok slowly re-read ingredients. If it still looks ok I will buy it 3) re-read ingredients when unpacking the shopping, its amazing what you will suddenly spot when you are not against the clock in the shop. I have to do this before Meg comes home as she gets excited about the prospect of something new to try, just incase I have missed something 4)recheck label just before serving.
This weekend I only did a quick read in the shop and forgot to double check, they were gluten free cake bars, looked ok then half way through eating Meg asked what the red bits were, oh whoops they were full of cherries. And then when you look at the box it quite clearly states cherries on the front never mind the ingredients list!!!! Also, little bit suspicious of glucose-fructose syrup.
