Another thing we could do with building up is what tests everyone has had. I am coming across time and time again, mainly on the HFI board that some very similar differential diagnosistic tests are being done, especially on the kids.
Maybe we can draw up a list between us to see a common pattern of negatives to help future parents not to have to put their kids through unnecessary tests. Maybe highlight positives in blue Megs: symptoms tested for : Vomiting Diarrhea Skin rashes Colicky pains as a baby Low energy Low concentration Blank episodes Mood and energy swings Passing out Poor sleeping pattern Noctural enureses
Tests done since she was a baby: Lactose intolerance - bloods age 2 and breath test age 5 - negative Celiac - bloods age 2 - negative Helicobacter pylori - breath test age 3 - positive and treated Fructose intolerance - breath test age 5 and 7- very positive Blood tests for liver function - age 6 - negative Ultrasound on abdomen - age 6 - negative General bloods for screening - age 7 - all fine Lumbar puncture for Glut 1 deficiency - age 6 - negative Blood fasting tests - age 7 (having been off fructose of 2 years) - negative ie, blood went low but body reacted correctly. EEG x3 - age 6, 8 and 9 - negative. ADHD screening - borderline. Motor skills tests - low score on speed and precision. HFI gene test - awaiting results now.
No wonder the poor kid is fed up.
