It would be useful if people could log how they react so we can build up a picture of what may be happening.
Meg is starting to show a very clear pattern of reaction. She tiptoed next door to "keep their cat company" while they were away on Sunday and monday several times and came back looking very shifty. This clarified in my mind how her reactions to foods she shouldn't have show up as they have alot of sweets and chocolate things next door. My neighbour had a good look for me and said there was a straw in the bottle of ribena (neat blackcurrant drink with sugar). It is supposed to be diluted, so I suspect it was that.
Symptoms start usually later that day or the next day, start to feel sick, gets very gassy, headache and earache but only in one ear. If she has had alot, as in this weekend she is then sick. Then slowly she start to show signs of a cold in that she gets a runny nose, feels woozy and gets sores above her top lip. This then goes on for a few days with her off her food, going more for milky foods. Oh, and the poos get worse and she tends to wet herself.
This has now clearly happened a number of times since we started the low fodmap diet last summer and now specifically since going very restricted again and "cheating".

My daughter gets a pimply rash on her cheeks and often becomes very tired and frenetic within half an hour. She struggles to sleep/settle in one place, has frequent poos which make her bottom bleed and is clingy and demanding for around 24 hours.
My symptoms when my daughter reacts are the inability to hold a conversation or get anything done due to the young child clinging to my leg and demanding my constant attention, and the need to hide in a quiet room to take stock.
My house reacts to my daughters reactions by turning into a bombsite.
My husband's main symptom is a big sigh, which occurs as he comes in the door from work and observes the carnage and the look on my face and asks "what did you feed her this time?!"
